A private home, lit so that the architecture leads and the light is felt rather than seen.

For L Residence the studio worked room by room — living areas, bedroom, bathroom, stairway and garden — layering light to suit the way each space is lived in. Where the household gathers, the light is warm and low; along the stairway and across the textured walls it is graded and concealed, so the surfaces glow and the fixtures stay out of view.

Outdoors the same idea carries into the garden, where a single tree is washed against the dark to extend the home beyond its walls after sunset. The result is a residence that changes character through the day and reads, at every hour, as one continuous atmosphere.
